CUSEF Hosts AsiaGlobal Fellows from HKU for Dialogue on Global Affairs

2025-10-10

On October 8, 2025, the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) welcomed 14 AsiaGlobal Fellows to its Hong Kong headquarters for an in-depth discussion on the complexities shaping today’s world. Each year, AGI Fellows are selected through a highly competitive process and include policymakers, advisors, business executives, and civil society leaders from across the globe.

CUSEF President James Chau opened the event by recognizing the significance of this year’s class, stating: “As Fellows, you embody the strength of diversity — in background, perspective, and culture. In the weeks ahead, you will exchange experiences, test assumptions, and learn from both renowned experts and each other. I encourage every Fellow to be ambitious and reflective. Support one another, identify points of intersection between policy, business, technology, and society, and remember that lasting change and peace arise from the collective commitment of a community that learns and acts together.”

Established by the University of Hong Kong’s Asia Global Institute, the AGI Fellows Program is a residential initiative designed for mid-career professionals who aspire to advance as future leaders and influencers. The program brings together outstanding talent from Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas, encouraging meaningful dialogue to deepen understanding of global challenges from Asian perspectives.

Each year, AGI Fellows are invited to participate in the U.S.-China Hong Kong Forum, CUSEF’s annual flagship event, with the next edition scheduled for November 17, 2025. Notable AGI Fellows who have featured at the Forum include Celenhle Dlamini, Chairperson of the National Arts Council of South Africa, who spoke in 2024, and Ananth Krishnan, Director of The Hindu Group, who will speak in 2025.

This year marks the 6th edition of the Forum, where global leaders will address emerging risks, challenges, and opportunities in U.S.-China relations, focusing on critical topics such as artificial intelligence, geopolitics, and academic exchange.
