The 11th China and Globalization Forum, co-organized by the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) and the Center for China & Globalization (CCG), opened in Beijing today. The Forum features a renowned lineup of government officials, foreign diplomats, think tank leaders, business executives, and academic experts.
Launched by CCG in 2015, the annual China and Globalization Forum has become a key platform for global dialogues. Over the course of two days from May 22-23, the Forum will host seven engaging panel discussions delving into a variety of important themes including China-U.S., China-EU, and China-Middle East relations, trade war, and global governance and multilateralism in uncertain times, etc.
James Chau, President of the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), delivered a welcome speech at the opening session, emphasizing that the Forum is a platform “not just for dialogue, but for honest confrontation of our shared challenges: geopolitical division, economic fragmentation, and growing uncertainty about the global future."
He also noted that no nation can achieve lasting success alone. “The very challenges that divide us also leave our futures deeply intertwined — a reminder that sustainable progress demands that we recognize our collective responsibility to confront these obstacles, ultimately for the well-being of all humanity," said James Chau.
The opening session also featured keynote speeches from distinguished guests including Amb. Zhang Jun, Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia; H.E. Kyung-wha Kang, President of the Asia Society; and Amb. Declan Kelleher, Chair of the European Policy Centre (EPC) and former Irish Ambassador to China.
