On April 7 and 8, the Greater China Society of Columbia University’s Business School and the Greater China Initiative from its School of International and Public Affairs hosted the 2023 Columbia China Summit.

The summit brought together leading figures in politics, academia, business and culture to share insights on topics related to China and engage in constructive dialogue between the United States and China.

The China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) invited Dr. Jin Keyu, associate professor of economics at the London School of Economics, and Dr. Shao Yuqun, director of the Institute for Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macao Studies and Senior Fellow of the Center for American Studies at the Shanghai Institute for International Studies, to speak.

Jin delivered a speech via Zoom on international technology competition and shared her illuminating ideas.

Dr. Shao Yuqun participated in a discussion entitled “China-U.S. Relationship: Shaping the New Era,” exchanging opinions on the issues of security, economic relations and global governance with Thomas Christensen, director of the China and the World Program at Columbia; William Grimes, professor of international relations and political science, Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University; and Zhe Su, co-director of the China Initiative at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.

The conference provided an opportunity for discussions on a series of international issues and helped scholars and students to further understand China’s development.
