- China Starts A Week Of Active Diplomatic Exchanges | China started a series of diplomacies after its largest Party event by receiving leaders from Vietnam, Pakistan, Tanzania, and Germany this week. President Xi greeted Vietnamese Communist Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong, highlighting the determination to fend off foreign interference together with the socialist country. Xi also signed a joint statement with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and held talks with Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan. Xi will meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz today. Abroad, Premier Li Keqiang and Vice Premier Han Zheng met with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and Singapore leaders separately. Observers see the exchange with Vietnam as bullish and unusual for President Xi. The Xi-Scholz meeting is closely watched as Germany is being criticized for its dependence on China.
