Media Delegations

This year, journalists from U.S. mainstream media outlets such as The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Chicago Tribute, National Public Radio, Vox, Bloomberg, Reuters and Forbes have explored China, traveling to a number of cities including Beijing, Qingdao, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Shanghai. These visits provide the journalists with the opportunities to engage with multiple aspects of Chinese society, through meetings arranged with the Department of Information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the School of International Studies of Peking University, Caixin Global, Institute of American Studies in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Baidu, and others. Through this on-the-ground experience, the visiting journalists gained a broader understanding of the political and economic underpinnings of the forty-year bilateral relationship as well as China itself.
