CUSEF successfully organized the 4th Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Leadership Delegation to China in 2017. Throughout the years, these delegations have met with leadership of universities in Beijing, Chongqing, Nanjing, Yangzhou, Ningbo and Shanghai. The Chinese Ministry of Education officials also briefed the groups on the recent development of bilateral educational exchanges and changes in future scholarship programs. With their Chinese counterparts, the American educators discussed the probability of organizing an HBCU presidential class, joint research, and student and faculty exchanges.
Engaging with American Leaders
In collaboration with the United States Association of Former Members of Congress and other organizations, CUSEF supports expanding opportunities for cross-cultural engagement through jointly organized trips to China. These trips, organized with the support of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), facilitate dialogue between past American policy makers and members from all sectors of Chinese society, with the purpose of strengthening mutual understanding and identifying areas of potential cooperation between these two nations.
