Creating Relationships through Education

Through CUSEF-hosted educational exchanges, we offer American students the opportunity to explore and grow their understanding of China – a cast and complex country. In-country visits enable students to not only experience Chinese culture and its people, but also to gain insight into politics, philosophy, language, history and more. In cooperation with the Congressional Black Caucus and other civil society organizations focusing on the black community in the U.S., CUSEF has hosted over 750 in China for this immersive study-abroad program.

In collaboration with Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the Foundation co-organized and sponsored a group of 18 Columbia students to visit China between January 2nd and January 12th, 2019 to study China’s Innovation and their Global Partnership Strategies.

During the 11-day trip, the delegation visited three places in China, namely, Beijing, Yunnan and Shenzhen, where they met with Chinese government ministries, business leaders, academics and non-profit organizations to gain a panoramic view of China and its development. Students also visited a number of famous cultural sites in China, including the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, and sampled a variety of Chinese cuisines.
