  • U.S. Government Changes Wording on Taiwan | The U.S. State Department website has changed its wording on Taiwan and has been criticized by the Chinese Foreign Ministry for attempting to "change the status quo across the Taiwan Strait." This comes as the Biden Administration is encouraging Taiwan to purchase more American-made weapons designed to combat seaborne attacks.

  • Global Businesses Call for China to Change Covid Policies | With the impacts of the Ukraine crisis and China’s Covid-19 lockdowns occurring, half of U.S. businesses have delayed investments in China, and are calling for the government to ease its approach to lockdowns. The World Health Organization’s Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus commented that China’s zero-covid approach is unsustainable. However, China fought back by calling the remarks "irresponsible," saying it was trying to contain the pandemic "at the minimum social cost in the shortest time possible."
