  • The U.S. Senate passed the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act to counter China's economic advancement, which will harm China-U.S. cooperation and further contribute to the anti-China, Cold War rhetoric used by prominent U.S. leaders.
  • The G7 Summit in Cornwall from June 11-13 and the NATO Summit on June 14 in Brussels addressed China's rise and a strategy for the U.S. to lead democracies into strengthening Trans-Atlantic partnerships, regardless of domestic economic challenges for the country. 
  • China's new three-child policy was implemented to curb a declining birthrate and an aging population in the country, despite skepticism from U.S. experts who argue the new policy will do little to increase fertility.
