Biden Contemplates Small China Tariff Relief | U.S. President Biden is considering lifting tariffs on $10 billion worth of Chinese goods
as well as starting an exclusion process for firms to receive additional relief. Biden says the decision will help ease inflation, but critics point out that $10 billion is a small fraction of the $370 billion worth of tariffs on Chinese goods imposed by former President Trump.
Virtual Talks Between China’s Liu He and Janet Yellen | China’s Vice Premier Liu He and U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen met virtually this week to discuss coordination on macroeconomic policies, U.S. tariffs on China, and the global supply chain. The conversation was described as constructive and candid, with no discussion on geopolitics.
