Journalists visit to China 2015

CUSEF invited four groups of US journalists to visit China in 2015. Themes of these visits range over a wide field including politics, economy and trade, energy, technology, culture and etc. The journalists came on the December trip are from San Francisco Chronicle, Minneapolis Star Tribune, U.S. News & World Report and National Public Radio. During December 2-11, they visited Beijing, Guizhou and Shanghai. In pursuit of answers for their many questions on China’s political system, economic and social development challenges, bilateral relations and etc., they not only met with people from Chinese government, think tank, business, private sectors, but also with American business executives, scholars, professors who work in China. They had lively discussion with Chinese Journalism graduate students in Shanghai, spent hours with the local people and villagers at the towns and the ethnic group village in Guizhou. They experienced the fast and wide internet connection covering almost all corners of the mountainous province, and got to know more of China’s enormous poverty relief efforts.

Program Overview Journalists’ visits to China Since 2008, the Foundation has invited in each year US Journalists group to visit China. These visits have built important channels for mutual communication and understanding between the two countries. By the end of 2015, 23 groups of journalists from more than 40 mainstream media outlets have visited over 20 provinces and municipalities in China.
