2017 HBCU Leadership Delegation to China
In collaboration with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, CUSEF successfully organized the 4th Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Leadership Delegation to China from December 3 to 9, 2017. The delegation includes Dr. David Wilson (President of Morgan State University), Dr. Kevin D. Rome (President of Fisk University), Dr. Lester McCorn (Acting President of Clinton College) and Dr. Karl Wright ( Provost of Claflin University).
The delegation visited 6 universities in Beijing, Chongqing and Shanghai, namely Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Chongqing University, Fudan University and Tongji University. Chinese Ministry of Education officials briefed the delegation of the recent development of bilateral educational exchanges and some changes in future scholarship programs.
The US side reached preliminary intentions with their Chinese counterparts on organizing an HBCU presidential class, joint researching, credit transffering, as well as student and faculty exchanges.
