The China Forums in U.S.

2017-10-01

Every year we partner with top American universities, including New York University (NYU), the University of Chicago and John Hopkins University, to organize the China Forums. The event provides students with access to leading China scholars as well as opportunities to involve in in-depth discussion on the biggest issues of today.

This year’s China Forum we continued to partner with NYU; and for the first time we collaborated with a university in the west coast – the University of Southern California. With around 200 academics, community leaders and students attending, the two forums explored the U.S.-China relations amidst global uncertainty.

Key Speakers included:
Li Kexin, Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the U.S.
Zhang Ping, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles
• Ambassador Jeffrey A. Bader, the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and a senior fellow and founding director of the John L. Thornton China Center at the Brookings Institution
Susan A. Thornton, the former Acting Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.
