Columbia University’s SIPA Student Delegation to China

In collaboration with Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the Foundation co-organized and sponsored a group of 18 Columbia students to visit China between January 2nd and January 12th, 2019 to study China’s Innovation and their Global Partnership Strategies.

During the 11-day trip, the delegation visited three places in China, namely, Beijing, Yunnan and Shenzhen, where they met with Chinese government ministries, business leaders, academia and non-profit organizations to gain a panoramic view of China and its development. Students also visited a number of famous cultural sites in China, including the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, and sampled a variety of Chinese cuisines.

Students commented that the delegation was definitely a unique experience and that being able to participate in a tailor organized visit to the country and interact with the relevant people has definitely enriched their understanding and perspective of China and its relation with U.S and other countries.
