African American Students’ Visits to China 2018

In 2018, the Foundation, partnering with Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Hangzhou Wanxiang Polytechnic, and Tongji University successfully hosted five African American student groups of which two were sponsored by Wanxiang Group Corporation.

The delegates visited Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai, and participated in various activities, which included attending lectures on China-U.S. relations, Chinese history, culture and language, participating in various cultural workshops such as Chinese calligraphy and martial arts, and touring historical sites like the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. Students commented that the trip had helped them understand China better and that they’ve gotten a new and positive perception on the country and people living in it.
