African American Students’ Visits to China 2015

From May to August, 2015, the Foundation together with Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing Language and Culture University and Hangzhou Wanxiang Polytechnic, successfully hosted 7 African American student groups of which 5 of them were sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Education while the other 2 were sponsored by Wanxiang Group Corporation. Under the customized program, the groups visited 3 cities in China: Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai. During their stay, they received lectures on Chinese history, language and culture, political and economic system, and the development and application of clean energy, presented by credentialed Chinese scholars. Apart from that, the students also had opportunities to participate in cultural activities, and tour historical sites such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. Almost all of the students participated mentioned that they could gain a better understanding of China after the trip.
