China has agreed to issue visas to 46 U.S. officials who seek to come to China for the Beijing Winter Olympics despite the U.S. diplomatic boycott. The White House said the delegation are not official representatives but a team for medical and security support.
U.S. Warship Enters South China Sea
China has expelled the U.S. destroyer USS Benfold that entered China’s sea territory in Xisha today without notification, said a Chinese military official. The warship conducted similar missions in South China Sea in July and September last year.
