The China-US Exchange Foundation has facilitated the engagement of a group of Chinese and American legal experts in a study program to discuss the development of China’s rule of law. The first round of dialogue took place in Beijing in 2010, discussing issues concerning the development of the Chinese legal system over the past six decades, including Chinese constitutional law, the Chinese judicial system & judicial reform, criminal justice, legal education, and WTO-related issues. A second round of dialogue took place in Washington, DC, in 2011, engaging experts and scholars from both China and the US in research on China’s legal system. The research findings were then delivered in a series of lectures at Americans universities and institutions, where the scholars presented their research to a wider audience.
