Foundation Chairman CH Tung was honored with “John Edwin Mroz Global Statesman Award”
Foundation Chairman CH Tung and Mr. Maurice R. Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co. Inc, were honored with the John Edwin Mroz Global Statesman Award by the EastWest Institute (EWI) on October 5, 2016 in New York City. This award recognizes individuals who share John Edwin Mroz, the institute’s late founder, his vision of a peaceful world, who embody his values as a trust-builder and who work passionately to achieve this goal. Past recipients include: George H.W. Bush, former President of the United States; Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; Dr. Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State, etc. Mr. Tung is the first Chinese recipient of this award.
The award re-affirmed Mr. Tung’s leadership and long standing commitment to help forge U.S. – China dialogue and strengthen bilateral relations. Ambassador Cameron Munter, President & CEO of EWI, said that the leadership and initiatives taken by Mr. Tung and Mr. Greenberg underlined the tremendous significance and value of what a trusted relationship between the United States and China meant for today’s world.
