About the Foundation

A Commitment to Strengthened Engagement

Our Vision

The China-United States relationship is the single most important bilateral relationship in the 21st Century. The Foundation seeks to foster a strengthened and improved relationship between China and the United States, that is and will continue to be beneficial to China, the United States and the world-at-large.

Our Strategy

The China-United States Exchange Foundation (the Foundation) has been established with the purpose of further improving communications and enhancing understanding between the peoples of China and the United States. The Foundation will do this by fostering open dialogue between the public policy arena, think tanks, academia, media and the business communities of both countries, particularly dialogue based on Foundation-supported policy-oriented research on various areas of common interest between China and the United States.

Such areas of common interest may include the environment and climate change, energy security, terrorism, nuclear proliferation, food security, multilateral trade issues, the international financial order, the spread of pandemics and other health issues, drug trafficking, money laundering and other financial crimes.

Since its inauguration, the Foundation has launched a number of initiatives to promote cultural, academic and educational exchanges and to support research initiatives directed at facilitating deeper mutual understanding and expanding opportunities for cooperation between the peoples of China and the United States in such areas as economics, the environment, and education, among others.
